The chancel roof is leaking folks and its was going to cost £78,000 but it seems like a bit more now, what with increased costs, the valleys, VAT etc. Fear not we're applying for grants and fund raising.

You can help by buying slates at £10 per slate. They can be in memory of loved ones - in thanksgiving for a birth or baptism - a wedding anniversary - a significant birthday - whatever you like. We recently had a birthday party where guests gave/purchased  £400 worth of slates. Names can be inscribed on the slates and recorded in church. Forms are available in church at the back, from Jen Mundy or Vicar. 

Because of the present cashflow problems, ie not enough on the plate, the PCC has decided that all future fund raising events will be for the general purposes of the church. In other words we will best be able to decide how to spend it, according to the needs of the church at the time.

Fund raising events for the rest of 2011 are:

Cream Tea - Sept 3rd 2-4pm in church

Bangers n Mash - Nov 5th - 7pm (details to follow)

December Concert - December 10th - includes big Christmas Raffle - St Mellons Village Hall - details to follow
