the parish website scheme: optional areas
Introduction
So far, you’ll have noticed that links to churches in your Parish/Benefice are included on the home page. You might also have noticed that people will be able to access the details you’ve added under “Contact” by clicking on the “Contact” button at the top of the page:

There are a number of further areas that you can add to your website if you want. We’ve called these “optional areas” because they’re just that - optional. When you add information in any of these areas, they’ll also appear as a menu option at the top of your website, just like this:
(NB: The eagle eyed will have noticed that “the Parish of Aberystwyth” doesn’t - strictly speaking - exist, which is why we’ve used it for some of our test pictures.)
The optional areas that you can add are those included underneath “Contact” on the menu you see on the left-hand side: “Groups”, “Church Life”, “Young People”, “History”, and “Hire”.

We have purposely kept these categories as general and broad as possible, so that people can make the widest possible use of them. For example, if you want to include details of your choir, you might want to do this under “Groups”. If you want to add some material for meditation or the text of the vicar’s sermon from last week, then you could do this under “Church Life”.
To add material to any of these sections, first select the section by clicking on it in the left-hand menu:

If you then click on “Add New”, you will see the options for the particular section you’re in:

The following table tells you what options you have in each of the relevant areas:
