the parish website scheme: Adding and Editing
Folder
(or "Group Folder", "Church Life Folder", "Young People Folder)
A folder is not so much the creation of an item (like an event or a news item) as the creation of a separate place where you can store more items.
Let’s say, for example, that you want to include your vicar’s sermons on the website. You would think about adding these to the “Church Life” section, but you know that there will be quite a few sermons, and you don’t want to clog up the Church Life section unnecessarily. The answer is to create a folder called “Vicar’s Sermons” in “Church Life” to hold all of the sermons.

You can do this by – as shown above – going to the Church Life section – and choosing Add New? – Church Life Folder.
You can then give the folder a title and a description, as shown below:
Once you’ve created a folder, you can go into the section where you created it (Church Life in our example above), and click on the folder to open it.

Once inside the folder, you can add anything you like to that folder. For a text document like a sermon, for example, you would choose “add new? – page” and this would lead to a separate page being created in the “Vicar’s Sermons” section.
(For more details on “page” and the other options here, see the sections listed on the left.)

It is very important to note that you cannot move items from elsewhere into a folder – you have to create items in the folder - so it is worth thinking carefully about how you want to structure your website.
If you do want to divide content for some sections into individual churches, however, then folders are a great way to do this. For example, you could create two folders in “Church Life” called “St Matthew” and “St Mary” and add relevant content to the correct folder.
